James, 21, and Matthew Wood, 19, study medicine at Edinburgh University but will leave their student lifestyles behind when they take part in the Mongol Rally.
Departing on July 13, participants are on their own once the rally starts and must find their own route through 21 countries, five mountains ranges and two deserts."
