Tavan Tolgoi Begins Operations at Western Portion | Ubpost News: "Erdenes Tavan Tolgoi state owned company has opened a second mine beside the Tavan Tolgoi Coal Mine at the Tsogtsetsii som of the Umnugobi. Management of the company stated, “The Western Portion of the Tavan Tolgoi was opened on a very good day (fortunate day by the Mongolian fortune calendar) of the mid month of August.” Economists note that Tavan Tolgoi’s expansion is greatly significant to the Mongolian economy, as it determines the thickness of Mongolian’s wallets. This day marks the full economical start of the Tavan Tolgoi mine. Furthermore, it means that the decrees passed by the previous parliament, decree number 40 which was passed in 2010 and number 39 which was passed in 2008, can now be implemented."
