Teck joins Erdene in Mongolian play | The Chronicle Herald: "Erdene Resource Development Corp. of Halifax has brought in Teck Resources Ltd. of Vancouver as a partner in its mineral explorations in Mongolia.
Teck is one of Canada’s largest diversified mining companies. The announcement Thursday of the partnership follows an earlier report that Erdene’s Xstrata Coal Mongolia alliance agreement was discontinued.
Erdene said fieldwork under the new partnership will commence in three weeks, with senior personnel from both companies expected in Mongolia.
“We were in talks with about a dozen groups,” Peter Akerley, Erdene’s president and chief executive officer, said in an interview."
