Japan Signs First Bilateral Emissions Offset Pact With Mongolia | Ubpost News: "The agreement is the first of its kind as Tokyo seeks to develop similar bilateral offset-credit mechanisms with countries including Indonesia, Vietnam and Bangladesh.
Under the bilateral mechanism, Japan will cut carbon dioxide emissions by setting up energy-management systems and forest-protection projects in developing countries using Japanese technologies.
Minister S.Oyun and Hiroyuki Nagahama, Minister of the Environment of Japan hold intensive discussions during the 18th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC and the 8th session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol held between November 26th and December 8th, 2012 at the Qatar National Convention Centre in Doha, Qatar."
