Bumpy ride into Mongolia - Holiday - New Straits Times: "THE bus hurtles into a large pothole and jolts violently to one side, waking up everyone on board who is asleep. I look out of the window. A few metres from the road, large, brown-coloured animals with two bumps on their backs stare curiously at our bus. Camels, I tell myself as I try to remember their name. Bactrian camels with two humps. Yes, I’m in Mongolia. It feels a little strange to be in Mongolia when I was in Russia just this morning. But then again it shouldn’t be.
After all, this is exactly how I planned to enter the country. “I have just entered Mongolia by bus”, I write in my notebook, my writing wriggling to one side as the bus goes over another pothole."
