Z. Lhagvadorj: Romeo and Juliet to be sung in Mongolian | Ubpost News: "Romeo and Juliet, one of Shakespeare’s greatest works, is set to be performed as a musical for the first time in Mongolia. Z. Lhagvadorj, the director of the “Classic Musical” production, was interviewed.
-You will stage Romeo and Juliet in musical form for the first time in Mongolia. How are the preparations going?
- The musical of Romeo and Juliet was first staged in 2001 by renowned French composer, director and poet Gerard Presgurvic, and we have acquired his permission to perform it in Mongolia. We began this project two years ago and the preparation work is about 80 percent complete now. The rehearsals for the performance are actually finished. We had planned to begin performances by the end of 2012 but we couldn’t make it. But we will perform it soon at the UB Palace theatre."
