Mongolia Imports First Russian Turbine in 20 Years | Break Bulk: "Ural Turbine Works will supply and install a 120-megawatt steam turbine at a coal-fired power plant in Mongolia.
The turbine order is Mongolia’s first purchase of Russian-made power equipment since the fall of the Soviet Union two decades ago, plant operator Renova, a Moscow-based conglomerate, said in a statement.
The turbine will be used to expand the capacity of Renova's Ulan Bator power plant No. 4, which supplies 70 percent of Mongolia’s electricity and heat. Currently, Ulan Bator has an installed capacity of 570 megawatts."
